Pregnancy and birth announcements have become alluring in recent weeks. We have Rihanna and ASAP Rocky waiting for their first fashion kill. Both Jessica Dime and Yung Bleu put another spin on the parenting block. And Romeo Miller and his Lady Drew recently welcomed their first child. Well, Simone Biles and her boyfriend Jonathan Owens took to Instagram with an ad of their own. The couple is now engaged after Jonathan popped the question on Valentine's Day!
"THE EASIEST YES," Simone wrote in the caption of her application photos. "I can't wait to spend forever with you, you are everything I dreamed of and more! Let's get married PROMISE."
Jonathan returned the sentiment in the comments section of the post, writing, "Ready to be with you forever."
The application
Within two hours of being posted, the photos had garnered more than 22,000 comments and more than 1.2 million likes on Simone's account. Both she and Jonathan expressed waking up this morning engaged and engaged - what a feeling!
Simone, dressed in a sleeveless black leather dress, and Jonathan, dressed in a gray suit and black turtleneck, stared at the moon in all the photos. The now engaged couple was surprised, amazed, smiled and, as it should, showed off Simone's large sparkling diamond.
Jonathan spoke to Texas Monthly about their relationship in June 2021. He said they hung out together just before the pandemic hit. It was apparently one of the few downtimes in the gymnast master's life. Jonathan told the outlet that they used the time to build and strengthen their bond.
"It was a match made in heaven," said Jonathan. “For me there is no better person. She loves me, she is so loving. I love that. And it's exciting to see how much work she puts into everything."
At the time, the couple did not share any details about how exactly Jonathan asked Simone for her hand in marriage. Still, black love is always a reason to celebrate! Congratulations on Simone and Jonathan's engagement!
