Hollywood star Russell Crowe will star opposite Aaron Taylor-Johnson in Sony Pictures' Kraven the Hunter, based on one of Spider-Man's oldest foes. Triple Frontier director JC Chandor will helm the film, which draws from Sony's universe of Marvel characters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, details of Crowe's character have been kept under wraps.
This is probably his second MCU movie after his role in Chris Hemsworth's Thor: Love and Thunder. Although it is not confirmed if the actor will actually play the role of Zeus, he has been seen joining the cast to direct part of the film.

Meanwhile, the next Kraven movie is based on the Marvel Comics character. It's a villainous tale of Sergei Kravinoff, a villainous big-game hunter who's also a member of the Sinister Six, Spider-Man's infamous rogues gallery.
He considers himself the greatest hunter in the world, a nickname he initially earned for his abilities to track down and kill large game, often with his bare hands. But ultimately, his quest to hold on to his title leads him to ingest a serum that grants him great strength and stamina, and greatly slows his aging.
Since his comic book debut in 1964, the character has appeared in many Spider-Man animated series and video game adaptations.

Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are producing the film, which will be the third antihero movie set in the Spider-Man universe, following Venom and the upcoming Morbius.
The studio is also developing a Madame Web movie, starring Dakota Johnson alongside the star.

Kraven the Hunter is scheduled for release on January 13, 2023.
Crowe, who won an Oscar for Gladiator and starred in many other critical hits like A Beautiful Mind, The Insider and Master and Commander, is no stranger to superhero movies.
He previously played Jor-El, Superman's father, in Zack Snyder's 2013 film Man of Steel.
